All Shareholders are encouraged to join the BFC Board of Directors for their monthly meeting. Our Board meets on the first Monday of the month from 5:00-7:30. At each meeting, we evaluate three things: the work of the General Manager, our own work, and the health of the BFC. Join a different teacher each week on Zoom for a free yoga class, every Wednesday at noon. We’re happy to offer this service to the public until it becomes safe to resume our in-person classes in our Community Room - space in a virtual classroom is limitless! During normal times, we’re unable to do this because of limited space, and we offer it as a perk for being a Shareholder of our co-op. Herbalist Susan Stanton of the Wellness Department and Rambunctious Botanicals will guide up to ten students in making comfrey and calendula-infused lip balm and salve. These fuss-free recipes make great gift ideas. They keep your skin comfortable year-round while avoiding the cost, plastic waste, and additives associated with many commercial lotions. Kara Peters started Ahlbin’s in her kitchen, making organic Fire Cider for her family with ingredients from her own garden. She’s taken her fine-tuned recipe and is now producing it on a large scale for our community. The name “Ahlbin’s” carries on the name of Kara’s Swedish ancestors. Ahlbin’s is passionate about supporting our local farms, and sources raw apple cider vinegar, raw honey, onion, garlic, ginger, and turmeric from farms local to Greenfield, MA.
Nourishing Cream is a real treat for the skin, and it takes kind of a knack to pull it off.
