The cooperative business model is a key solution in creating a more democratic and egalitarian global society. Join us to learn more, get inspired by what co-ops have brought to our collective table, and dream about the better world they will help us create.

On Thursday, June 23rd at 7 pm, Dave Gutknecht will speak on the importance and relevance of cooperatives, followed by a Q&A moderated by BFC Board President Jerelyn Wilson. This is a free event series, open to everyone.

Dave Gutknecht has been involved in the cooperative movement since the 1970s. Based in the Twin Cities, he was the editor of Cooperative Grocer magazine for many years, and also has deep history with the movement against the Vietnam War, serving prison time for his draft resistance – his case even went all the way to the Supreme Court. Dave has an enormous wealth of knowledge, passion, and inspiration to share about food cooperatives and what they can do to meet current needs.

The event will also be followed up with a more informal in-person discussion the next day on Friday, June 24th, with Jerelyn. More details TBD.
