Pop-Up Book Group – White Fragility: Why It’s So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism

March 24 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, happening 3 times

Free

Come and join the discussion during this three-part pop-up book group to talk about the New York Times best-selling, International Bestseller by Robin DiAngelo. White Fragility explores the counterproductive reactions white people have when their assumptions about race are challenged, and how these reactions maintain racial inequality. This is such an important opportunity to examine how white fragility develops, and how it protects racial inequality. This book educates us as to what we can do to engage more constructively as individuals and as a community. Facilitator: BFC Shareholder and former board member Wesley Pittman. In the Brattleboro Food Co-op Community Room, Canal St. entrance. This class is free for all, but you must register: 802-246-2821 or Shareholders@BrattleboroFoodCoop.coop.
