Young children are invited to bring along their favorite stuffed animal (and dress up as an animal if they like) for a very special tea party. We will be serving kid-friendly tea, homemade scones, and animal stories! @ BFC Cooking Classroom/Community Room.
We’ll transform the Brattleboro Co-op Community Room into a center of sensory exploration for young children with various kinds of dough for kids to get their hands into, and taste tests from every color of the rainbow. Stop by anytime between 9:30 and 11am. Call 802-246-2821 if you have any questions.
This month, instead of meeting at the museum, we’ll meet at the Co-op Kitchen for a hands-on creative activity followed by a delicious instructional cooking class. This class is free for all, but you must register: 802-246-2821 or Shareholders@BrattleboroFoodCoop.coop
Caldo Verdé is a traditional Portuguese soup and the star dish on our culinary journey to Portugal this month. We will make this soup which calls for sausage, potatoes, cabbage and Swiss chard (the Vermont Harvest of the Month vegetable). Don’t worry, we will make a vegetarian version as well, so everyone can enjoy this delicious soup. Kids will be introduced to the culture of this vibrant country and even learn a few words of Portuguese during the class. In the Brattleboro Food Co-op Cooking Classroom, Canal St. entrance, Thursday, September 20, 3:30-5pm. This class is free for all, but you must register: 802-246-2821 or Shareholders@BrattleboroFoodCoop.coop
