Brattleboro is an economically diverse and vibrant community with a classic New England downtown. Located on the Connecticut River, near the New Hampshire and Massachusetts borders in southeastern Vermont, it blends small-town character with a compact downtown where a thriving arts and culture scene has evolved. It’s also a popular destination for those drawn by signature events such as the monthly Gallery Walks, two annual Film Festivals, the Vermont Jazz Center summer workshop and the Brattleboro Literary Festival. Brattleboro is a small town with multiple recreational opportunities: area trail networks, golf, downhill and cross country skiing, tennis and rowing, to mention a few. Brattleboro is accessible by train to New York City. Mother Earth News selected Brattleboro one of “8 Great Places You’ve Never Heard Of,” citing our “vintage Vermont” qualities and “artsy, intellectual” character.
